A ceramic tea service by Moorcroft, marked ‘TRIAL 14.8.19’. The service comprises a lidded teapot, a creamer, a sugar bowl, and five cups with their corresponding saucers. Each piece is crafted from white glazed ceramic and adorned with a distinctive, repeating curvilinear pattern, which appears to depict stylized birds, applied as a decorative band. The pattern is executed in black on the teapot, creamer, sugar bowl, and one cup/saucer set, with the remaining four cup and saucer sets featuring the pattern in red, dark blue, light blue, and yellow respectively. Visible impressed manufacturer’s mark ‘MOORCROFT MADE IN ENGLAND’ is present on the bases, along with a handwritten green script ‘TRIAL 14.8.19’, indicating these are prototype or sample pieces. Various retail stickers with item codes (e.g., ‘T/D BIRDCR’, ‘T/D BIRDT/POT’) and associated pricing are also present.
