A collection of eight metal advertising signs for Guinness stout. The group comprises seven rectangular and one circular sign, all featuring printed colourful illustrations and English text on thin metal. Common motifs include the iconic Guinness toucan, often balancing a pint, accompanied by various slogans such as “Lovely day for a GUINNESS” (appearing on multiple signs with different illustrations), “Have a GUINNESS when you’re TIRED” with a turtle, “Aim for a GUINNESS” with a dart-throwing toucan, and “My Goodness My GUINNESS” depicting a man being chased by a lion. The circular sign prominently features the branding “GUINNESS EXTRA STOUT ST. JAMES’S GATE DUBLIN BOTTLED BY GUINNESS ARTHUR GUINNESS SON AND CO. LTD. SINCE 1759” with a harp emblem. Another sign includes a toucan with a football and the word “IRELAND”. Many signs emulate a vintage advertising style, with some exhibiting simulated distress like rusted edges, while others appear newer. 30x20cm
