A Bossons Ivorex hand-painted relief wall plaque, dated 1959. Cast from a composition material, often referred to as chalkware, the rectangular plaque depicts a detailed and picturesque street scene identified as “Clovelly – High Street, ” leading down to a body of water with boats. The scene features multiple buildings, figures, and animals (donkeys or horses) rendered in a traditional, somewhat stylized manner. Visible markings on the front include “Copyright W.O.B. & Co. 1959 made in England.” On the reverse, the plaque is marked “IVOREX, ” “BOSSONS – (COPYRIGHT), ” and “MADE IN ENGLAND.” A braided cord is present for hanging. 16.5x11cm
