A print depicting Adam Naming the Creation, by Covens & Mortier/Corneille, originally published in Amsterdam circa 1685. This framed artwork features a vibrantly coloured print depicting a detailed biblical scene of Adam naming a multitude of animals within a verdant landscape, including elephants, giraffes, lions, tigers, and various fowl. The bottom border prominently displays the inscription “AND ADAM GAVE NAMES TO ALL CATTLE, AND TO THE FOWL OF THE AIR, AND TO EVERY BEAST OF THE FIELD.” with “(Genesis. 2. 20.)” noted in smaller script in the lower right corner. It is housed within a gilded wooden frame.
