A collection of seven Victorian-era paper financial documents primarily from “The Pacific Mining Company, Limited” (also seen as “The New Pacific Mining Company, Limited”), dating from 1870 to 1873. The lot includes an “ALLOTMENT LETTER” dated October 22nd, 1873, allocating 20 shares to “Mr. Fred Ginger” and featuring a purple embossed stamp. Also present is a group of five “CERTIFICATE OF SHARES, ” each for “FIVE SHARES, ” dated August 15th, 1870, issued to “James Edmund Saville, ” and signed by “M. Javingtore” (Secretary) and two Directors. Completing the set is a “TRANSFER CERTIFICATE” dated April 21st, 1873, documenting a transfer of shares to “Frederick Ginger, ” which prominently features a red cautionary note indicating its valuelessness without accompanying scrip.
